Counselling Services

At times life can seem like a tragedy that unfolds within an unyielding and indifferent world. During such times counselling can help. Counselling may be thought of as a process whereby one builds resources that will enable one to cope effectively with the challenges of life. Counsellors facilitate this process by providing a safe, none-judgemental environment wherein clients feel accepted and understood.

Individual counselling can help if you are experiencing distress or are having difficulty functioning in social, occupational or other important areas of your life. Distress and impaired functioning may be associated with a condition, such as depression or generalized anxiety. Difficult life circumstances, however, can also have a significant impact upon one’s psychological health.

Fortunately, therapy can help. Many individuals report symptom relief shortly after entering into therapy, and therapeutic gains are often sustained over the long-term. Although individual counselling may be used as a stand-alone-treatment, it can also serve as a useful adjunct to pharmaceutical treatment, which would be administered by a medical professional.

I understand that reaching out to a counsellor may seem like a daunting task. If you are thinking about individual counselling I encourage you to schedule an initial appointment to see if my style is compatible with you. During our initial meeting I will outline the process of counselling and discuss limits of confidentiality. To expedite matters, kindly download and complete the intake package by clicking the "Download Intake Package" button (located right). If you wish, you may also upload your completed Intake Package by clicking on the "Upload Intake Package" button (located on the "Contact Us" page).

Individual Counselling

The world breaks everyone,

and afterwards, some are strong

at the broken places.
